The Compensation Fund is established in terms of Sections 64 -73 of the Legal Practitioners Act [Chapter 27:07] and its functions are described in section 190 of the constitution. The Fund has a statutory mandate to compensate “for loss through dishonesty of a registered legal practitioner”.
